This warehouse conversion in Sydney’s Darlinghurst neighborhood boasts an array of inspiring design elements. The residence, 181 Palmer, is 4,305 square feet and displays a spacious open-plan layout.
The design scheme was inspired by the lofts found in New York City. An overwhelming feeling of space greets you as you step inside this home. This perception is increased by white walls throughout, subtly contrasted by sprinkles of bold color.
On the upper level, there is a kitchen and dining area with a bar and state-of-the art appliances. An en suite master bedroom and a sitting area with Juliet balconies and views of the neighborhood add to the mix.
The most appealing part of the four-bedroom house, however, is the ground floor, where the distance from the open garage to the dining table on the other side seems endless. The exposed car and motorcycle add a dynamic vibe.
The wooden beams are set in geometric patterns, reducing the scale of the apartment while adding warmth to the composition. What do you like best about this home? [Photos courtesy of Stephen Wan]
