Completed by h2o architectes in Paris, France, the Arsenal Flat is an intriguing project displaying clever design solutions. The family apartment is located on the top floor of a Haussmannian building, in what was formerly servants’ quarters. According to the architects, the Paris flat is based on three connected and sequenced living spaces. Each one of these interiors is characterized by its orientation: east, west or south.
The social living space is open, separated by bookshelves shaped to follow the sloping roofline. Diverse storage spaces are located throughout the apartment. The modest dimensions of the social area are visually increased by the diagonal lines across the room. The use of white paint on wood or plaster also contributes to the feeling of space.
Oak furniture and floors bring warmth inside, while the bookshelves provide a sense of coziness. The kitchen, featuring all-white appliances, is perfectly integrated into the Paris flat’s open-plan scheme. What do you think are the highlights of living in a place like this?
